Fiber optics, referred to in the context of optical fiber, are thin strands of glass which data is transmitted across, using optical equipment which transforms data signals light. This thin, flexible glass is of a diameter similar to that of human hair. It measures approximately 100 millimeters (um) which is 0.125 millimeters (mm).
